Fife Beekeepers Association have recently received a National Lottery grant of £20,000 towards setting up a new bespoke teaching apiary in the East Neuk. As the accompanying photos show, committee members have been working hard at the site over the summer , and the site is now ready to host its first event on 5th October, a taster session for prospective students on the new Beginners Course which starts this coming February.
The new teaching apiary will provide a fantastic resource for advancing beekeeping in Fife. As well as FBA members meeting there for regular inspections and advice, we will be mentoring our new beekeepers there and will also hold ‘awareness days’ for those interested in learning what beekeeping involves.
