We are planning to hold two Beekeeping Taster sessions on Saturday 5th October, for those thinking of taking up this absorbing hobby. This will be an introduction to our six week Beginners Course to be held from February next year, and will be at our new apiary on the Balcaskie Estate, East Neuk (exact location will be shared with attendees upon enrolment).
Programme:
- Who are we, why do we keep bees, why do you want to keep bees?
- What are we going to do today?
- Theory – bee-keeping educational posters and empty hive
- Practical – visit to Association’s beehives (bee suits provided)
- Back inside for coffee and description of potential routes of a beekeeping career.
Choose from 2 sessions, 10 to 12 or 12:30 to 2:30pm (come 15 mins earlier to register please), cost £20 per participant.
